Last week we had a problem with our central air, call AHS and a guy came out. The problem was that the fan motor on our central air unit was shot. It kept kicking out, screeching and not cooling. So they replaced that. They checked the freon level and that was fine.
Now the A-Coil has started to freeze up along with the line out to the AC unit.. I ‘ve melted the thing two times so far. I let it melt from 6 last night to 6 this morning with the fan on blowing ambient air at the coil. I then turned it back on and when I got home it was frozen again. I changed the filter last week so I assumed maybe it was too restrictive so I changed it out for a normal ACE pleated filter after the first time. So #1 they said the freon/refrigerant level was ok last Friday. #2 The filter is clean and the blower seems to be working fine. The whole duct system was cleaned 6 months ago. Any Idea’s??

It sounds like the air is still restricted. Have you tried to run without the filter to see if it freezes up if it doesn’t then its the air filter is too coarse. Also it may have been under charge I would have them come back out and check the pressure and if its low that would do it and you may have a small leak then

I have soapy scum stains on the shower glass and need some ideas how to remove it

The first thing you could do to stop this problem is stop using bar soap and start using liquid soap/body wash. It tends to be less problematic with building up on the shower screen. Use bi-carb soda as a paste to cut through the thick scum. Do not use a hard/strong scrubbing brush, as you will probably ’scratch’ the glass. A rough/course cleaning cloth is just as good. Repeat as necessary. Keep the shower screens rinsed off [after you shower] and sprayed with white vinegar. This will wash away during your next shower and help to keep screens soap free. If your screens still look ‘milky white’ after you have cleaned, then this is glass cancer [tiny air bubbles in the surface of the glass] which you can lessen with a light rub over with almond oil. Repeat as necessary

I was my sheets in hot water as recommended and they always shrink. After about 6 months the bottom of the deep pocket is just hanging on the to top of the corner. Yes, I can wash in cold, but that just sounds nasty for sheets. They are supposed to be washed in hot. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes. I noticed a set of sheets were perceptibly shorter, and I realized the dryer was the culprit. It was getting too hot even on the gentle cycle.

Use a warm setting on the washer instead of hot and try a more delicate cycle so there’s less agitation, if you can. Cold water will clean them though I swear. Some stains actually set in heat.

You may want to think about drying them on the gentle cycle and removing them when they are just barely damp. I can’t do this, but you could try line or hang drying them if you have space.

If you purchase sheets that are 100% Cotton there is nothing you can do. However, you CAN buy them larger. Look for sheet sets that say “Deep Pocket” or “California Style”. That way they will be larger and will not shrink themselves off your bed. Also, if you purchase Egyptian Cotton with a high thread-count, they will shrink up a tad bit less.
